Immediate dentures are placed in the mouth by your dentist right after your teeth have been extracted. Immediate dentures are made prior to the extractions. The advantage of immediate dentures is that patients do not have to go without teeth and the dentures can be worn to help control bleeding and swelling. The disadvantage of immediate dentures is that the mouth will change after the extractions and it might be necessary to adjust or reline the denture after the mouth has healed.
